Seuss at War

Today is the birthday of Dr. Seuss,
An author who had a few wizurzles loose.
He wrote about cats and hats and sneeches and thneads,
But tonight I want to mention a lesser-known deed.

Seuss was drafted in the Second World War, 
Owing to his pen being mightier than the sword. 
He schtimpled cartoons to help the war go,

I enjoyed a grown-up view of the good doctor. Well, as much as you can enjoy a glimpse of WWII.

i don't think I've ever seen a picture of Dr. Seuss before, but that first sketch is exactly how I pictured him.
